Three dead in shooting at Maryland Rite Aid facility
Three people were killed and two were injured during a shooting at a Rite Aid facility in Maryland on Thursday morning, according to reports.

The 9:09 a.m. shooting happened in Perryman just outside of Aberdeen at a support facility for the chain drugstore, CNN reported.

“What I understand is the location is secure,” Rite Aid spokeswoman Susan Henderson told CNN, adding that about 1,000 employees work there.

“The distribution center is where products are received and processed for delivery,” she said. “This is part of a large facility that is a distribution center. The shooting happened adjacent to the primary building.”

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that there were “multiple victims” from the shooting.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said in a tweet: “We are closely monitoring the horrific shooting in Aberdeen. Our prayers are with all those impacted, including our first responders. The State stands ready to offer any support.”

The FBI responded to the scene as well as the Baltimore Field Division of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Perryman is roughly 30 miles from Baltimore.

The shooting comes a day after two Maryland police officers were shot and injured in District Heights while serving a drug-related search warrant at an apartment building.

In Wisconsin on Wednesday, three people were wounded in an office shooting. The gunman in that incident was killed by police.

On Wednesday in Pennsylvania, three civilians were injured when a shooter opened fire outside a crowded courtroom. The suspect, Patrick Dowdell, 61, was fatally shot by cops.
An officer was also injured during the incident.
