Premier League justified: England boast of all players plying their trade at home

England justified the relevance of their league by having the all 23 man selected on merit via strong and dependable performance

Gareth Southgate has travelled up and down the country in recent seasons, scouting players and deciding who he wanted in his 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia.

But it now appears the Three Lions boss had it easier than others with every member of the final 23 plying their trade in England.

England are one of two nations in the 2018 World Cup that has every player playing at home in the main domestic league with group rivals Belgium only able to boast young midfielder Leander Dendonker at Anderlecht.

Of the 32 nations competing in Russia this summer, Sweden and Senegal are the only countries to have not one player playing their club football in their homeland.
