Clerk leaves NASS premises, says ‘I can’t work without my staff’

The Clerk of National Assembly, Mohammed Sani-Omolori, has left the premises of the assembly after members of his staff were denied entrance to the complex.

Upon arrival, Mohammed approached the DSS officials at the entrance and turned back after minutes of deliberation.

Speaking to journalists, Mohammed did not say in clear terms whether he was denied entrance while claiming he would not have entered because members of his staff were outside.

“He is telling me they have security issues. I don’t know why this is. Even if I enter, how will I work without my staff?” he queried.

The clerk, thereafter, drove off in his vehicle.

DSS officials are currently laying siege to the entrance of the National Assembly, barring everyone from gaining access to the complex.

Some lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party had earlier found an alternative route to the complex.
